Miko x Diverge 4
Miko “The Moose” Põder is a hard enduro rider. He is Estonia’s top rider in the discipline, but his ambitions reach far beyond being the best at home.
On July 6, Miko stopped by our Tallinn showroom. He shared stories from Romania, having recently returned from a regional race that turned out to be an exceptionally high-level event. “It wasn't far off Red Bull Romaniacs,” Miko said. With more valuable mountain riding experience now under his belt, he has a short period to train at home before heading back to Romania. This time, it will be for Red Bull Romaniacs, where he will compete in the Gold class for the very first time—a serious challenge by any standard. Unfortunately, we can't help Miko improve his motorcycle skills. What we can do is help him build endurance. To prepare physically for the demands of the Romaniacs Gold class, Miko took home the Specialized Diverge shown in the photo.
Endurance is absolutely critical in hard enduro. Once fatigue sets in, control starts to disappear. And when control is lost, energy expenditure increases dramatically, often leading to a downward spiral that rarely ends well.
That's why endurance is one of the keys to success at Red Bull Romaniacs. Each race day lasts around six hours, and the event itself consists of a prologue followed by four demanding days in the mountains. The Diverge is the perfect tool for building the aerobic base Miko needs on the gravel roads and rolling terrain around Viljandi.
