Handed over: S-Works Tarmac SL8 Remco ‘Golden Season’ LTD
Sulev: "This week's most special bike handover is also the most remarkable in the history of our existence - 14 seasons.
The whole team and I are sincerely grateful to Toomas Määritsa on the one hand and to Specialized on the other - because we have never had the honour to hand over such a special bike before.
It is a Remco Evenepoel bike, produced in honour of the Paris Olympic victory, of which 272 were produced worldwide. There is a huge demand for this 'golden' bike and it is a great achievement that one of them is now in Estonia. Decisions on how many bikes will go to which market are taken at the "highest level" and, to be honest, we have tried to get special bikes to Estonia before, but without success. But now we have!
And what's even cooler - the bike came with a book about Remco, signed by the Olympic champion himself. An Olympic gold medal in the cycling world is a big deal, and the fact that the book was signed makes the whole 'package' extra special. At first, we thought the signature had been printed - but no - the felt-tipped signature peeks through the page. Authentic stuff!"
