VO2 Explorer presents: Specialized Gravel Series 2026
The Specialized Gravel Series Limburg is a gravel event set among the rolling hills of South Limburg, taking participants through mountain villages, forests, gravel roads, and diverse landscapes along the borders of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The start and finish are located in the event’s home town of Banholt, known for its strong cycling culture and charming scenery. It is one of the most highly regarded gravel events in Northern Europe, offering riders both a genuine sporting challenge and visually stunning views along the course.
Routes and Riding Conditions
The Specialized Gravel Series Limburg welcomes gravel riders of different levels. The routes run along gravel roads, forest tracks, and country lanes, crossing the rolling landscape of South Limburg and taking participants through the border regions of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The courses offer a flowing yet demanding profile, where short, steeper climbs alternate with fast gravel sections and more technical forest segments.
There are three distances to choose from: 65km (500 meters of elevation gain), 125km (1400 meters of elevation gain), and 200km (1800 meters of elevation gain). All routes require good pacing, endurance, and confident bike-handling skills, while delivering an enjoyable and diverse gravel experience.
